Congratulations to all the participants and Rogue Runners who raced the 20th annual Cap Tex Tri yesterday! The Cap Tex Tri is a multi distance triathlon located in downtown Austin. The majority of participants compete in the Olympic distance which is a 1500 M swim in Lady Bird Lake, followed by 40 K bike loops around the capital and Cesar Chavez and finishes with a 10 K run down riverside.
The number of participants makes it one of the largest Olympic distance triathlons in the nation. The cold water allowed for a wetsuit legal swim but the above average temperature made the run portion that much harder. Good job to those who gutted it out in the end, especially those whose waves started later. Rogue Coach Karen Smith was out there competing and looked very strong towards the end of her run.
If you are feeling inspired and want some help to get you to an Olympic distance triathlon, Rogue has a class ready for you. The Austin Triathlon is coming up Labor Day weekend and Rogue Training Systems has a program geared for this race. Check it out here: Austin Tri Training.
